Q&A With Dave: Shoulder Pain

January 31st, 2022|

My Top Ten Fruits and Veggies!

Sharing his thoughts post race- “Felt okay about the race. My swim hit waves, and I was slower than I hoped, so have some OWS practice in the future. My bike was decent and my run comfortable. I’m looking forward to having another go at racing this coming weekend!”

Well done Chuck, keep up the effort 💪

Still alive, hoping to eat some more food and just Still alive, hoping to eat some more food and just trying to regain some power. Today’s big challenge was walking 30’ feet down the hall, quite an improvement from the two previous days. Feeling quite weak and lethargic but aiming to improve daily. Thank you all for writing.

Wishing all the racers well in the upcoming Boulder IM70.3 and I know there will be some impressive performances ahead. Race fast!

Looking at a long road ahead.. Not quite the chal Looking at a long road ahead..

Not quite the challenge I was looking for, but I’m scheduled for open-heart surgery the beginning of June.

Many of you have become aware of the complications from excessive long-distance training compounding over the years and I’m certainly a testament to that over my career. My heart has taken a tremendous load over the years and now I’ve been forced to deal with some negative effects from the stress.

Greatly appreciate all the warm support I’ve received from many of you already and look forward to diving back into all things triathlon / endurance related once this is done.

As you know, I certainly preach a different ethos now based on the scientific benefit of high-intensity and high-intensity interval training which is far more beneficial for performance and longevity.

Look forward to catching a few of you on the open road again soon! 🚴‍♂️💨

The Importance of Proper Running Form ⚡️ 🏃 The Importance of Proper Running Form ⚡️

🏃Reduced Energy Wastage: Running with proper form helps athletes minimize the power lost at both the Vertical and Lateral planes, optimizing energy efficiency.
🏃Minimized Braking Forces: By maintaining correct form, athletes can reduce Ground Reaction Forces (GRF) braking forces, enhancing forward momentum.
🏃Improved Elastic Energy Storage & Return: Proper form enables athletes to harness and utilize elastic energy more effectively, aiding in propulsion and speed.
🏃Enhanced Oxygen Efficiency: With optimal form, athletes can reduce oxygen consumption at a given speed, allowing for greater endurance and sustained performance.

To support our athletes in honing their technique, we employ a comprehensive approach, including:

⚡️Video Analysis: Providing visual feedback to identify areas for improvement.
⚡️Core Strength Training: Strengthening the core muscles essential for maintaining proper form.
⚡️Continuous Running Dynamics Analysis: Monitoring and adjusting technique to optimize performance.
⚡️Improving Mobility and Flexibility: Ensuring athletes have the range of motion necessary for efficient movement.
⚡️Terrain Awareness: Teaching athletes to adapt their form to different surfaces and conditions.
⚡️Proper Footwear Choices: Selecting footwear that supports and enhances natural running mechanics.
